Linda Hanford
On our walls: December - February 2007-8. Linda’s a local, born on a bright day in 1947, she came into the world and decided to call Oakland California her birthplace. Approaching retirement she set out to rekindle her love for art. With a master’s degree in education and 30+ years of teaching behind her, she taught herself watercolor over the internet. Her favorite kind of art is the art commissioned by her family. Now branching out, and because her house is starting to explode with her creation, she’s ready to paint for us. Pat Strouts
On our walls: September-November 2009
Born in New York, Pat exhibited her artistic talents early in life. She attended school at the Fashion Institute of Technology and later worked as a designer of children’s wear and a free lance fabric artist.
Pat has painted for over 40 years, creating amazing watercolor and acrylic paintings. She has also devoted years of her life teaching others how to paint. Pat was recognized by the California Council for Adult Education for the Bay Section and State with the Teaching Excellence Award in 2008. She continues to take courses in new techniques to share with others both in class and also as a guest artist demonstrator for local art associations. She has toured Europe to gain art insight and knowledge.
Participating in many one-man shows in the area, Pat continues to “wow” others with her unique portrayal of nature and the world around us.
